TITLE 1

PORTERS POINT SCHOOL

Title 1 is a federally funded program designed to offer extra academic assistance to students who need help in meeting state standards in literacy.  Title 1 provides students with supplemental reading practice that enhances their ability to succeed in the regular classroom.  Students are chosen to participate in Title 1 based on classroom assessments.  This year we will offer literacy support in Grades k, 1 & 2.

In addition to the instruction given by the classroom teacher, students receive services in a small group setting.  A variety of instructional methods and materials are used to help build each student’s skill level and confidence.
